She can take the little story and make it big, relevant and fresh. Her specialty is garden pr, but loves the lifestyle genre as well. With every project she digs in and gets to know the author - his/her goals and passions. After years in the industy, she has a long list of author friends.
Laura Troup is the founder of Media Workshop Promotions Consulting. She earned a degree in communication in public relations from Lipscomb University and got her start in pr with a music management group handling tour press for a strong roster of music artists. She was hooked. After a brief stint in university promotions, Laura answered a call to support the design and multimedia team for a top book publisher and wound her way to a position as director of marketing. Her forte is cookbook promotion, yet she has expertise in several publishing categories. She combines journalistic thinking with business-building savvy. Laura has a passion for restaurant service and reviews, but couldn't survive without the McDonald's drive-thru.
